Aloha Harvest Rescuing Food to Feed the North Shore Community

North Shore News13 Jun, 2020

What is Aloha Harvest? At no charge to food donors or recipients, Aloha Harvest rescues quality excess food from donors which include grocery stores, restaurants, farms and more. Aloha Harvest then delivers that food the same day to food banks and social services agencies who then distribute the food to those in need. For years Aloha Harvest has been making deliveries to our food banks on the North Shore.

Aloha Harvest is the largest nonprofit doing this work in the State of Hawaii, since 1999 they have rescued over 24 million pounds of quality food which went into hungry stomachs instead of landfills.

Mahalo to Aloha Harvest for being our "heroes" during this unprecedented time. If you would like to partner with Aloha Harvest you will help ease both food insecurity and environmental footprint. Less food in landfills equal less greenhouse gas emissions.
